Picture perfect smile – Learn How to Love Your Smile
Have you ever practiced your pose to get a picture perfect smile? As in everything else, this is just another case of practice makes perfect!
In this video, Lucie gives you a few tips you can follow so next time you take a photo, you feel beautiful and confident with your smile.
#1: Practice makes a picture perfect smile
Start by getting in front of a mirror to check yourself out from the camera’s perspective – try to find out which position you feel more comfortable and confident in. We often hear people say “this is my good side”, and it’s because we all tend to prefer one side of our bodies to the other. Generally speaking, the left side of our face tends to looks better, and you should try to avoid looking straight at the camera, but place yourself at an angle instead.
Find out which position suits you: if you prefer to show your teeth or give just a little smile, it’s all up to you. Just practice your favourite position so you can put it into action the next time a camera is around.
Got your pose? As you take more photos, you will notice that you start looking more confident and glowing!
#2: Upgrade your smile
After practicing your smile, you may still feel insecure about your teeth if they are a bit crooked. In this case, there are three elements to be considered: tooth shape, position and colour.
1) The shape of your teeth can create the illusion that they are crooked, when in fact they are not. This can be corrected with a non-invasive solution called cosmetic-contouring or cosmetic-bonding. This is performed by your cosmetic dentist and will improve the shape of your teeth, making a noticeable difference to your smile.
2) If the position of your teeth is a bother, you may want to opt for teeth straightening. Though the traditional method uses expensive fixed braces, the easiest and most affordable way to get a straighter smile is with an at home aligner solution, like the one offered by Straight Teeth Direct™. Not only can you reach your smile goals in 5-9 months, but it can all be done from the comfort of your own home, without dentists visits, while also saving you up to 70% compared to traditional in-clinic straightening.
3) When it comes to tooth colour, there are so many options on the market that aim to give you a gleaming white smile. The safest and most cost-effective solution is to use a safe, dentist-prescribed whitening solution. This is often in the form of a gel, which is applied to your custom-made trays or even inside your aligners, if you’re getting your teeth straightened at the same time.
You see, a picture perfect smile isn’t as hard to achieve as you may have thought. If you follow these tips, you should have your smile photo-ready in the blink of an eye!
